Rooftopsmusic.net
January 13th, 2010

Rooftopsmusic.net has launched! This is my first full design for Wordpress and I’m really happy with the results. I definitely gave up some control that I had with Django, but in the end all the built in functionality of Wordpress saved me hours and hours. Go check out the site and the band, especially if you like mathy pop rock.

Places of My Mind
December 16th, 2009

This is a poetry volume that I’ve been designing. My client has been writing poems about the places that he has visited all over the world for decades. This volume contains thirty years of his best poetry. I intentionally left the photos untouched from their original scans to show the passing of time and to add a sentimental feel.
All the design work is finished, now we wait for the holiday rush to be over so we can go to print.

Red Moon and the USSR Navy
December 5th, 2009

Some (or all) of these posters will be in the upcoming film Red Moon . Red Moon is a comedy about a Soviet Submarine captain who also happens to be a werewolf. I can’t wait to see how it turns out. I wish I would have had a bit more time to work on these, especially the typography. I prefer to do hand-drawn lettering for this style of poster, but only had the time to pull it off on two of the posters.
For a behind-the-scenes look at Sirocco Research Labs and the making of Red Moon check out their brand new Flickr stream .

Red Moon
December 2nd, 2009

My good friends at the Sirocco Research Lab are in pre-production of their new film Red Moon and have asked me to design some Soviet propaganda style posters to promote the film (and to decorate the sets). This is round one, more are coming soon. In the mean time check out a trailer for Sirocco’s recent film Cleo in the Universe .
