Pro­jec­tion tech­nol­ogy has been mak­ing giant leaps recently. Here are few of the most impres­sive fea­tures I’ve seen.

Now put it all together: A hand­held pro­jec­tor that scans the 3d struc­ture it’s being pro­jected onto and adjusts the con­tent appro­pri­ately. The con­tent being pro­jected can inter­act with the sur­face it’s being pro­jected onto and jump out into the space between the sur­face and the pro­jec­tor in a holo­graphic pro­jec­tion. The con­tent can then be con­text sen­si­tive. For instance, if you project onto the floor you could dis­play a map of the area and if you project onto the ceil­ing you could dis­play a map of con­stel­la­tions. There will be a lot to play with when these hit the market.
