Scott Hansen's The Workers Party poster

Recently I’ve been helping out Scott Hansen (of ISO50 and Tycho fame) with his website. First on the list was upgrading to sIFR 3 to remedy a problem where his post titles weren’t clickable. We got that fixed and Scott was nice enough to write a post about my help. Thanks Scott!

That post lead to the highest volume of traffic I’ve ever had on Sidearm and got me thinking that it was time to abandon the pretty basic portfolio I had here for a more suitable blog format. Over the next few days I’ll be adding a lot of content to the website so stay tuned.

P.S. The photo is of Scott’s poster The Workers Party .

  • Karli Fairbanks on Tour

    Karli Fairbanks Sings

On tuesday my friend Karli Fairbanks stopped in Bellingham as part of a small tour through the northwest accompanied by fellow musicians Noah Gundersen and Dylan Morrison . Karli, Noah and I spent the day hanging around town and enjoying the beautiful summer weather. I think it was the nicest day of the year.

That evening they were featured artists at The Three Trees coffee shop and all played terrific sets to an enthusiastic crowd. Afterwards we returned to my apartment for a private, candlelit show with a few friends and a few glasses of wine.

Here’s a sampling of some of Karli’s music off her hand-made tour EP (pictured above). Be sure to check out their myspaces for more music and to see if they’re coming to a town near you.

For the last few months I’ve been working for a small record label here in Bellingham called Clickpop Records . My most recent project, a website for singer/songwriter Jenni Potts , was completed about a month ago. Jenni is an excellent musician and a very enjoyable person. Check out the site and make sure to listen to the track posted below.

For all you web designers out there the site was built with a custom Django back-end and some neat features like flickr and google maps integration. I’ll be posting more about Django and how I work in some upcoming posts.
