For the recent revision of theghostandthegrace.com I wanted to rethink the logo bit. The original was out of balance and didn’t feel “American” to me. The flourish on the G was trimmed back for balance and shields were added behind the small text to bring more attention to them and create a better sense of flow from top to bottom. “Grace” was originally set in Gotham, but it was too geometric to be a counterpart to the “Ghost” script so I decided on Univers. I usually wouldn’t use three typefaces in a logo, but the eclectic style of the music called for the variety you might find in a letterpress ad.

Because of the length of the text in the logo, a simplified design was needed for quick recognition of the brand. Once again, I chose the combination of a shield with Gotham.
