The Solar Film was pro­duced by the famous designer Saul Bass and com­mis­sioned by Robert Red­ford. I feel a bit sad see­ing how lit­tle progress has been made in the last 30 years, but we have to real­ize that solar energy is any­thing but sim­ple. Even the best solar cells are incred­i­bly inef­fi­cient. For solar to be a viable replace­ment we will need a lot of innovation.

As a side note, the pro­duc­tion house for this film, Pyra­mid, is the same for the film Pow­ers of Ten . Does any­body know more about Pyra­mid, like where to find their films? We need some modern-day equiv­a­lents to these films.
