US Steel — A Portfolio of Possibilities

US Steel Concept one

US Steel Concept four

Concept art from US Steel. My favorite part is the genetically engineered pets that we will have in the future, apparently designed with new aesthetic tastes. Makes me think that designer pets or pets as art could really catch on. Or maybe they’re really advanced robotic animals (there will be little difference by then). I think all of these were done by Syd Mead, one of my favorite artists. Brilliant work. These, too, make me nostalgic for the future. They are retro and futuristic at the same time. I love it.

I’m not sure. It looks like they’ve had a lot of different logos over the years. That’s probably something you should ask on a font or logo forum.

i have a set of seven ot these drawings in their original portfolios that belonged to my husband. we used to live in Pittsburgh Pa, he bought these at a swap meet years ago. They are all in excellent condition, and measure about 11 1/2 x 24 inches, and are dated 1972.
