Nice metaphor, jimmy. I don’t have a clue about sports–but i’m guessing it means Karl is awesome–if we’re on the same page here.
i like the pairing of the shapes and primary colors in the first image. what kind of concept are you working with?
@David – The color scheme, rough layout, and Saturn were ideas directly from Sirocco. Since we were using simple colors I thought that simple shapes would also be appropriate to signify the DIY attitude of Sirocco. They also wanted the logo to feel at home in the 1960s (a kind of retro-futurism) and to look equally appropriate in one of their movies or a scientific journal. The latter is reflected in the second design.
